나는 부지런함을 증명하고 싶었다.
나는 비교적 부지런한 예술가라는 얘기를 칭찬으로 듣는 편이었고, 언젠가 내 부지런함을 증명해 보기로 하였다. 2013년 7월 31일부터 2014년 7월 30일까지, 매일 아침 일어나는 시간을 카메라로 찍기로 하였다. 그러나 여러 이유로 인하여 1년을 다 채우지 못한 220여일 정도만 기록할 수 있었고 나는 이를 실패하였다고 생각했다.
220여일 동안 찍은 사진들에 라디오헤드의 Creep을 직접 불러 삽입하였고 영상작업으로 제작하였다.
I wanted to prove my diligence.
I was often told, as a compliment, that I was a fairly diligent artist, so I decided to prove it someday. From 31 July 2013 to 30 July 2014, I set out to photograph the time I got up every morning. For various reasons I couldn't fill the whole year — I managed to record only about 220 days — and I considered it a failure.
I sang Radiohead's 'Creep' myself, laid it over the photographs from those 220 or so days, and made it into a video.
